3DTV at home is soft, but still hot in the Theaters

#1 movie for the weekend - "Resident Evil: Afterlife" 3D. According to studio estimates made $27.7 Million over the weekend.

What will it take for people to bring this experience into their home? Monday Night Football and the 2011 Super Bowl?

Is the price too high? Not enough 3D content? We are use to the glasses from the Movie Theater so I wouldn't expect that to be much of an issue.

Thoughts? Let me know!

  1. Barrier of entry with the cost of glasses plus availability of content. Super Bowl would be a great vehicle to ignite the technology but if you have a large crowd $150 a pop is still an issue. The technology is too cool to not succeed. Gaming will definitely help.
